Bully's

Why are kids so darn mean. This last week Amber has been calling me with a stomuchache from school almost everyday. She would tell me that she didnt feel good and that she had thrown up at school. Of course as soon as she says this the school is on the line saying that we need to pick her up. Yesterday it happened again and I was convinced that she was faking. I didnt want to call her a liar but told her if I found out that she was faking I was going to ground her. My mom picked her up from school for me and I asked her to make sure amber had eaten lunch. Thats when it all came out. 2 third grade boys had stolen her lunch box yesterday so she didnt get to eat. Besides that all week they have been threatening to throw her in the garbage, have been hitting her and stealing stuff from her bag on the way to kids first (afterschool program), swearing at her plus many other things. Everyday towards the end of school she would get herself so worked up that she would make herself sick. Now I couldnt ground her for being scared, she was being traumitized by these boys. Once we got home we went through the last years yearbook and she pointed out the two boys that were giving her a hard time. I emailed the teacher as my first step and got a response this morning that she had no idea and was going to take care of it right away.

This afternoon I picked amber up from kids first and asked how her day was. She said it was the same but she told her teacher when the boys were bothering her and pointed them out so they were sent to the office to be spoken to by the principal and counselor, told to give her back her lunch box and that they need to stay away from her. I dont know if they got detention or anything but am just happy that something was done. I guess we will see what happens in the next couple weeks. I am hoping that they have learned there lesson but know they were following her around after that but the teacher told her to just walk away and come get her if they talk or try to do anything to her. I just dont understand why kids feel the need to pick on those who are younger and smaller than them. I guess its not just her, a couple of her friends are being picked on too but I so far am the only parent who has complained. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens

The Great America Log Ride

I have come to the conclusion that the log ride sucks at Great America. A couple weeks ago we were there with some friends and wanted to go on the ride. As we were waiting in line we saw a bunch of people coming back down and realized that the ride had broken. This caused amber to have a little hissy fit since she really wanted to ride and was finally tall enough. Finally she calmed down and we did some other rides. Well we went again today and it was pretty warm so we decided to go on it before going to the water park area. After waiting for awhile we finally get on with 2 other people and get going. BUT as we got through the floating part and were about to go up the incline the guy at that part of the ride starts yelling for us to hold on tight. All of a sudden we slammed into the barricade and just stopped. Apparently somehow the ride ran out of water and we were stuck. So we sat like that for about 10 minutes before being told anything. Then the guy tells us to just sit there that we are not allowed to get out. This lasts for another 30 minutes or so. Finally as we are telling him that we are getting out when the managers finally get over there to help us. After us having to sign a paper saying we got off alright we were finally free to leave only to discover our backpack was still at the front of the line so we had to walk around to get it before doing anything else. Other than that we had a great time although we ended up sunburn, I guess my sunblock expired or something since we made sure to put a lot on

The Tooth Fairy

So last monday, yes a whole week went by before I blogged about it lol but I have been real busy, Anyways amber finally lost her first tooth. It has been loose for a long time and I have discovered that when it comes to tooth pulling I am a total chicken. I just can't do something that might hurt my boo boo. So finally after it came out as soon as she woke up. I was getting her up in the morning and all of a sudden she sat up and her tooth was in her hand. So we put it in a little baggie and put it where it wouldnt get lost. That night while I was getting her ready for bed she started asking questions about the tooth fairy. I told her that it wouldnt come until she was asleep. So finally after a ton of questions she gets into bed, we turn off the lights and all of a sudden she pops up and says "But mom I dont want the tooth fairy to see my undies" Which began the process of finding a pair of shorts to wear under her nightgown. Then back to being settled before she could fall asleep.

Since then she no longer believes that there is a tooth fairy and somehow has figured out already that I am the one who puts the money under her pillow

Mom I am addicted

Camp rock has become one of Amber's 3 addictions lol. Earlier today she was telling me about her addictions. 1) Camp Rock - We have watched this movie almost every day since it first showed on Disney Channel (the joys of tivo) 2) Applejuice - She said thats all she wants to drink forever and ever and gets mad if I make her drink something else or we run out 3) Donuts - I have to buy the miniature donuts for her camp snack every day lol, we alternate between the chocolate and powdered sugar ones. According to her she loves them all to much and has to have them in thier own ways of course every single day, multiple times if I let her. Plus besides watching camp rock she now sings and dances along with most of the songs especially the final jam. Monica I know you know what I am talking about since your kids are as addicted as mine.

Hurricane Amber has struck again

So I have been noticing more and more lately that whenever Amber comes home from her dads that whatever work I have done around the house is almost immediately trashed. Now this weekend was not much different, I spent time cleaning the rug, scrubbing the floors and bathroom along with a ton of laundry. The usual weekend cleaning yet within an hour of ambers arrival there is all the pieces of a craft kit spread out on the couch since amber needs to see all the pieces, a jump rope on the floor and a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff spread out around the house. It seems that no matter how much I try to tell her to keep her stuff picked up and in her room it doesnt stick or she forgets. Plus lately I am so tired by the end of the day that I dont want to have to have to clean house every single day well no more than the dishes and laundry lol. I get tired of living in a messy house so much of the time but dont see any way around it. Oh well whats a girl to do, Maybe I will threated to donate all her stuff again. It did seem to work one of the five times I have done it.

Kindegardens Over : (

So today was Amber's last day in kindegarden. She is sad but also excited. She loved her teacher Mrs Walsh and is going to miss the fun they had but is excited to be going to the 1st grade. I have to admit that I got a little teary eyed when the teacher gave her a big hug and said she was going to miss her so much, then we had to go say goodbye to Mrs Gina who is the kindegarden caregiver in kids first, Another person she is going to miss next year. Yes she will still see her since I am putting her in the same program but there will be a lot less involvement since she will do activities with the older kids. Ahhh my baby is growing up on me and there is nothing I can do to stop it. Its so sad : (, but what can I do. But I must say that she did really well on her report card, almost all pluses, a few checks and no minus and she got awards for her writing and listening skills and placed in the early advance for speaking and understanding at a level above her age. Yes I'm a proud mama, what can i say lol

Ice Skating

It appears that my daughter surpasses my natural athletic ability when it comes to ice skating. Yes that is a joke since at one time I was into sports but now dont do anything at all and I am a terrible ice skater, just dont have the balance. Today we went to Mariyah's b-day party at the dublin ice skating rink and amber was a skating animal. It took us awhile our first time around the rink but by the end she was already letting go of the wall and able to balance on her own. The 2nd time we got going a bit faster but were still pretty slow. Then the third we tried to do 4 of us in a row which didnt work out so well. Alyssa was doing some crazy leg skating lol. So we separated back to me and amber, Monica and Alyssa. And the race was on since Alyssa was determined to beat amber every time around. By this time Amber is practically dragging me around the ice. Her balance is much better than mine lol. I finally had to let go of her hand so I could hold the wall. By the last time around I was doing a bit better. Actually able to skate without holding onto the wall. Amber though was really good for her first time. Now she is already asking for me or her dad to take her again. She has already told me that when her dad takes her she is going to make him fall on his butt. She didnt want me to fall while we were skating but I guess its different with him lol. I can already hear her asking to have a b-day party there at some point.

My Baby Needs Glasses

Awhile back I got a notice from the school that they had done some testing and that it was a possibility that Amber would need glasses. Now I didnt notice her having any problems seeing and waited awhile to make an eye appt. Then in the last couple weeks I have noticed amber getting really close to the TV and whenever we were reading would get closer than she needed to to see the pictures and letters. Then I had to wait a bit until I got my tax return. My work does not have vision coverage so I knew this was going to cost me quite a bit. At the begining of the week I started making calls to OD's to try to get an appt. This was almost impossible. Most Ophthalmologists do not see small children and my medical group is Hills Physicians which is not that popular among eye doctors apparently. Finally I find a small practice that would see her. We get there and they ran all the tests then dilated her eyes and did them again. I guess she can force herself to see 20/20 when she needs to but it causes high eye strain. In the end we discovered that her vision is pretty bad. So then we looked at glasses. After trying on a bunch of pairs she finally picked a pair of frames but we wont get them for awhile, the eyepieces were too long so I needed to order a pair that had shorter eyepieces and I want her to have the poly carbonate lenses that are harder to break since she can be a rough child. But she looked so cute with her glasses and does need them. I just wish it wasnt so young but what can I do. I am just glad she didnt end up crosseyed since kids with her vision normally have one or both eyes crossed and that is hard to fix.

My Gosh, It has started already

Ok so yesterday afternoon my cell phone rang. Now most people dont call me during work hours on the cell and it was a strange number so I picked up only to hear a little voice say "Is amber there". When I said no the little girl hung up before I could find out who she was. An hour or so later I picked amber up at Kids First and asked if she had given my number to any of her friends. She said yes that it was Semra and she called her back. I made sure to tell her she couldnt talk too long since it's a cell phone and she would be using my minutes but did she listen, NOOOO lol. She talked to her friend for almost 30 minutes while we were driving home. And from what I could hear they were talking about nothing. Yes for those of you who are wondering I do know that it was her friend. I was the one to call back and speak to her mom and make sure that it was Semra from her kindegarden class. But I cant believe that they are already calling each other and talking on the phone. It shouldnt be starting this early. If it continues I am going to have to either get a house phone or more minutes on my plan since I already use them for my talking, internet and when I use messenger on my phone.

Son of a B.....

So I gotten written up today at work, Now yes normally I would post this on myspace but since my shithead supervisor is friends with some of the people on my page there is a chance he would be shown this. All I can say is that I am truly pissed right now, Probably made worse by the fact that I am about to start my period and the temper comes more quickly for the next week. A couple days ago I sent some laser information to one of our long time customers. This customer already had this information but couldnt remember where he put it and asked for me to resend it. Now keep in mind his laser is about 7 years old and he has had this the entire time but for some reason or another QA/RA has decided that we shouldnt send out that information but doesnt bother to notify anyone in the dept since 3 of us decided it was ok to send. So today as it is time for me to leave I get called in to his office, told not to do it again and then given a final warning, not even a warning for sending something out that a customer already has. I swear I need a new job, If the economy wasnt so bad I would look but until such a time as it getting better I am afraid that I am stuck. With so many people out of work I cant take a chance on something new. Sorry for the vent but I had to get this off my chest. There is a lot more I can say but wont because I want to get my mind off of it. Grrrr what a great way to start the weekend

I had such a hard day

Lol, so this was the response amber gave me when i asked how her day was. It was a hard hard day for her. She had to do her bunny dress and face all by herself since we were home sick yesterday and most of the kids started it then. She had to do lots of hopscotch, had a orange thrown at her, a banana fell on her shoe (lots of food problems here). Oh and we forgot her kite since I wasnt aware that it was kite day at school. How that one slipped by me I dont know. Plus the lunch lady cant ever seem to find amber in the system for her lunch card. I think I am going to need to make something for Amber to show her when she wants lunch. How many times does the kid have to say her name before they will let her get lunch. Man oh man I wish for these kind of hard days. Instead of stressed out crazy days with the possibility of getting an ulcer if I dont slow down.

The Drama of Kindegarden

I swear little girls are just crazy lol. They are just so picky, tempermental and bossy. Arghhhh since amber has been in preschool her and her little girl friends are always fighting about something and not being each others friends. It normally starts with one of them not wanting to do the same thing as the other and so they now hate each other and are no longer friends, then the next day they get along again until the next time. And it only gets worse and they start taking each other's sides and gang up on each other. Lately amber has been the one ganged up on. She is driving me crazy. I dont remember things that bad when I was that age and I am scared to think of what things will be like when she is in high school

Disney on ice and the ways they rip you off

Heres another blog for you. Tonight me and amber went to see the Princess Wishes on Ice at the Oracle arena. Now I will admit the show was pretty good and I loved seeing the looks on ambers face and how excited she was when her favorite princesses were on the ice. But it was so darn expensive, I am not sure how people who have more than one or two kids can afford it. To start with the tickets were roughly about $55 but I purchased those awhile back. Today when we got to the arena I had to lpay $15 just to park my car, Its been awhile since I went to anything there and didnt realize how much it had increased. Then since we didnt eat much before we left I decided to get some nachos and a drink. Just those 2 things cost me $10.50. I have never spend more than $5 on a bottle of soda in my life, Then we got a huge bag of cotten candy since amber had been looking forward to it all week and that cost me another $10. I swear its all a rip off, If I had been able to smuggle in bottles of water I would have done that at the very least. The food cost more than the necklace and coloring book she got as souveniers. But she had a great fun time and thats what really matters lol

My little mini-me

So lately I have been noticing how much amber sounds like me at times. Now I know some of this is to be expected since she hears me yapping at her all the time but lately I have been finding it hilarious. Some of the things she says are

Chop Chop-Mostly to my parents when they dont move fast enough to suit her
Sorry Darlin-to the dog when she doesnt want to play with her
Dang it or Holy Shnikes-when she drops something. The 2nd one is something I made up trying to avoid saying something worse.

And the cutest one of all is:

COOL, Thats Awesome: That is just so me, I will admit it.

It is just funny listening to the things that come out of thier mouths. It makes me be extra extra careful of what I say around her

Rolling eyes

Lately my daughters has a new habit. Whenever I make her give me a kiss whether it is goodnight, goodbye or just because she has started rolling her eyes. I will admit she looks so cute doing it and she always has this silly little grin on her face but I am afraid that the days where she is fine with me kissing her in public may be coming to a slow end. I know it embarrasses her a bit when I kiss her in front of her friends at school so i try not to, but didnt expect it to happen this quick. My baby is growing up on me and there is nothing I can do the stop it. I miss the days where she would just sit on my lap or let me hold her just because. Now I have to practically force her to give me a hug and kiss goodbye when she is leaving me for the weekend or a couple days. Its just kind of depressing : (

Bored out of my mind

So for the past week or so at work we have been having some major technical issues at work. We were hit with a bad trojan virus which has infected the whole office and field. It has been a waste of time coming to work for the most part because without lotus notes and Sap our two main programs there is not much that can be done. Add that to today where we have no access to anything on the server and you see why I am so friggen bored. I cant check emails other than my yahoo account which now every person at work has due to these problems. Now I dont mind some people having it but field sales people, no way. If they have a way to reach you out of the office they will do it. I know plenty of people here whos weekends have been ruined by these guys. Well needless to say I am bored but everything just came back up yay, I have a weeks worth of work to catch up on

Rocks in a bag

You know the saying it feels like you are carrying rocks in your bag? Well today I found out it is true. My darling little girl who happens to love rocks has decided to weigh her bag down with a ton of them. I have been noticing lately that when I carry amber's backpack for her that it weighs a ton. Plus she had so much crap in there that it was hard to get her binder in at times. So she came home from her dad's this evening and I decided to go through it. She had about 5 lbs or so of rocks in one of the pockets. I cant believe the kid has been lugging that around for so long. I guess a couple weeks ago she picked them all up at her grandma's. Now I am trying to figure out what she was thinking and why she would carry that around for so long. I guess I need to check her bag more often

my daughter is now a latchkey kid

So yesterday amber started her first full day at the Kids First afterschool program they offer at her school, YAY I dont have to deal w/ the grandma's attitude anymore. Anyways she was a little nervous about the change and had me write a letter to her teacher explaining that she was now being picked by kids first and now to wait for her grandma, It was more to make amber feel better but whatever works. Then I get there after work to pick her up and apparently pulled her out before her last outdoor play time, so I get some attitude about that. Then I find out that she didnt eat lunch because she didnt have "time", more like she was too busy playing so the whole way home I hear her whining because she is hungry and had to pretend I have 5 hands to get her lunchable open while talking on the phone, shifting and steering lol. See I can multitask hehe. But I guess I am a mean mommy since I wouldnt let her have chocolate at home while I was cooking dinner and helping her with her valentines. Word of advice never buy the ones with the little tattoos that you have slide the corners in slots for it too hold, They are a big pain in the butt. Since she couldnt have her chocolate she runs into her room and slams the door 2x and was in trouble after that. Grrr that kid and her attitude are driving me crazy

Dance Class

Ok so here it goes. Monica and Jeneca I hope you enjoy this lol. So 2 weeks ago amber started a new jazz and tap dance class. She wanted to try something different after 2 years of ballet and well its a lot cheaper and I dont have to do 2 performance's a year anymore. Hey say what you will but it is very time consuming, expensive and tiring. Anyways, Amber has inherited my clumsiness. In this class she has tripped, slipped, fell and slid so far. And today was only the 3rd class, I shudder to realize what will happen next. But she looks so cute doing her little dance. The tapping drives me crazy when she practices at home and roughing up the metal on her shoes about killed my ears and teeth. Its almost like running long, sharp fingernails down a chalkboard. Everytime they scraped a little I was grinding my teeth. Too bad, but I am not sure if they are going to continue the class. Amber is one of two students so if they dont get any more kids signed up it may be dropped. Hint Hint, I am sure Alyssa and Triniti would like it a lot lol. Thats enough for now, I still have some things to do and there is finally quiet in the house : )
